How we pick the three
Every category on Best3 goes through the same research process before a single product card is written. Here's exactly what that looks like.
1. We start with expert consensus, not vibes
We survey current buying guides from established review outlets — Wirecutter, RTINGS, Tom's Guide, and specialist publications — and look for the products that keep appearing at the top across independent sources. A product that only one outlet loves doesn't make our list.
2. We verify each product exists on Amazon
Every pick links to a specific, currently listed Amazon product page — the exact model and configuration, not a search page or a lookalike. If a model can't be found on Amazon, it can't be picked, no matter how good it is.
3. Three ranks, three jobs
- #1 Best Overall — the pick for most people. The best balance of performance, quality, and price.
- #2 Best Value — the smart buy. Meaningfully cheaper while keeping what matters.
- #3 Premium Pick — the no-compromise option for people who want the best and know it.
What we never do
- No paid placements. Rankings are never sold. A manufacturer cannot pay to appear or to rank higher.
- No scraped prices or star ratings. Prices and review counts change constantly on Amazon. We link you to the live page instead of showing stale numbers.
- No filler picks. Three products per category. If a category only deserves two great options, we'd rather say so than pad the list.
- No fake authority. We don't claim to have lab-tested products we haven't. Our value is curation and honest tradeoffs, clearly labeled.
Freshness
Product lineups change — new models launch, prices move, listings disappear. Our research is dated on every page (currently September 2026), and we re-check categories on a rolling basis. If you spot a dead link or a discontinued model, we'd genuinely like to know.
Affiliate relationship
Best3 participates in the Amazon Associates program. When you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences which products we pick or how we rank them. Full details on our disclosure page.
